A Detroit medical team member is recovering after being found unconscious at a funeral home in Michigan.

The man, identified as 59-year-old Dr. Paul Karp, was taken to an emergency room after suffering from cardiac arrest Saturday night.

According to the Michigan Department of Health, the patient died of cardiac arrest.

Karp is a cardiologist and the founder of the Emergency Medicine program at the University of Michigan-Flint Health Care System.

The Detroit Free Press reports that Karp graduated from the hospital in 1988 and was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago.

He was treated and released on Monday.
