When a doctor is an asshole: A doctor’s strange tale of sexual harassment and rape

Posted November 18, 2018 06:07:07 When a Doctor is an Asshole article Posted By Posted By Alicia L.B. The doctor who made a name for himself as a sexual predator in the United States has now left a long list of victims and a doctor’s office in the state of Illinois.

Dr. Joseph F. Gershenfeld, the chief of the department of surgery at the University of Illinois, Chicago, left his job as a surgeon and left the practice he co-founded in 2010 to become an orthopedic surgeon.

He left his wife, Dr. Joanna Gershanfeld, in 2015 after more than 10 years of marriage and a daughter, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

“As of November 15, 2018, Dr Gershank’s wife and daughter had not yet been reunited with him,” the medical examiner wrote in a press release Friday.

Gershans children were not in the home when the incident occurred.

The family’s attorney, Michael Zipp, said the family is still waiting for answers from the Illinois Department of Health and Hospitals.

In a statement to ABC News, Gershefolds attorney, Scott P. Smith, called the medical examination findings “shocking” and said the allegations are “not a reflection of Dr. Gerhans conduct.”

Gerghes attorney said Gersheds wife and child, who is now 14, have been traumatized by the incident.

His wife and children are still waiting to see if Dr Gershafts wife has recovered, he said.

On Tuesday, the medical examiners office released a letter it sent to Gershengfolds attorneys, saying it found that the investigation was “a clear attempt to cover up Dr Gerghes conduct,” and that it “does not indicate a pattern of sexual misconduct.”

“The investigation did not identify any evidence to support a criminal charge or conviction,” the letter said.

“The medical exam report does not contain evidence that any of Dr German’s conduct was unlawful.”

Gershelfstein’s lawyer, Michael Smith, said it is now up to the family to determine if they want to take the case to trial.

“It’s really not his problem to answer the question of whether or not he’s guilty, the question is how do we do it in a way that doesn’t put the family in an unsafe place, which is not good,” Smith said.

Smith said his client has a long history of sexual assault allegations against him, but said his actions did not fall under the umbrella of the “doctor” label.

Smith said he thinks the medical examinations are the right decision.

Doctors are often trained to handle patients with disabilities, he told ABC News.

But it’s hard for doctors to know how to help a patient who’s been sexually assaulted or raped, Smith said, adding that it’s also difficult for patients to trust their medical professionals.

“We know that we need to be able to do this with our patients,” Smith told ABC news.

“They need to feel safe.”

The medical examiner released its findings on Friday, but the family’s attorneys said they are still awaiting the results of an independent investigation by the Cook State Medical Examiner’s Office.

At the press conference on Friday afternoon, Gerghefs attorney said the doctor is “sickened” by the allegations and plans to take legal action against the Illinois medical examiner and the state medical examiner, who both declined to comment on the allegations.
