A physician who cast a popper on a patient has been jailed for two years after a court found she “observed” the procedure without the patient’s knowledge.
The doctor, Dr. Zaki Bishara, 30, from the southern city of Kfar Saba, cast the popper into a patient’s vagina to relieve pain and inflammation, an Israeli newspaper reported.
The patient was then taken to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for a minor wound, and then released.
The court found that Bishaya knew the procedure was done by another physician who was not her colleague, and that she had not informed the patient about the procedure, according to a statement by the prosecutor’s office.
According to the statement, the court also found that the procedure violated the patient privacy.
Bishada was sentenced to two years in prison on Friday, and will also have to pay a fine of 500 shekels ($8.7).
