Washington State doctors earned more per hour than their counterparts in California, New Jersey, New York, and other states, a report released Tuesday by the American Hospital Association found.
The AHA said that medical school graduates earning $55,000 or more were paid $1,037 per hour in 2016, or nearly $711 per hour more than the national average.
The report was based on a survey of more than 10,000 AHA members, including nearly 2,000 physicians and more than 4,000 nurses.
In addition, the association looked at other occupations, such as pharmacists and pharmacists of other health professions, to identify additional occupations that could be of interest to those seeking medical school.
The study, titled “How Much Doctors Earned in 2016?” is available on the AHA’s website.
